We Serve the North Shore Community in a Variety of Ways
Since 2020, we have operated the SICP Free Market – a weekly event which provides free groceries and household necessities to families on the North Shore of Staten Island. Our free market is designed to remove all stigma of attending a pantry where personal shoppers guide you through your shopping experience. Additionally, the SICP hosts numerous events throughout the year that promote community empowerment and knowledge sharing.
The SICP engages community residents, local community groups, service providers, and government agencies to work together for the good of the neighborhood. Through monthly membership meetings, a resource-filled e-newsletter, and the work of our Community Ambassadors, the SICP works to connect stakeholders and weave a safety net of support for those in need.
Through its events and community-building efforts, SICP provides concrete connections to support and care. Community residents receive the resources needed to pursue healthcare, mental health, counseling, case management, and other forms of support through our partnership.
SICP’s backbone agency (The New York Foundling), offers family therapy and support, developmental disabilities programs, and other services in Staten Island – browse their website for more info.
